upcoming sofrut course!

It has been a long time coming, and I am so thrilled to be back to teaching a sofrut course.
This online 6 part lunchtime series will cover the foundational techniques and skills of sofrut (ritual Hebrew calligraphy/scribing), as well as some of the Jewish legal and ethical considerations pertinent to scribing today. This information is often inaccessible, and this class aims to shift the realities of who writes and repairs Torahs by training students to pursue the skills, and understand the issues needed to do our holiest work.
The cost of this class includes a kit which will be mailed to you. It includes a quill, feather, a small piece of parchment, calligraphy paper for practice and all the handouts for the class.

Dates of the class: Thursdays at 12-1pm EST, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 June 6.

All classes will be recorded and will be available for participants of the course for one month after the completion of the course. All levels of Jewish education welcome—all texts will be provided in English and Hebrew.
There are 15 spots in this class. If there is additional interest, I will schedule another class. In order to receive the kit before the class begins registration (i.e purchase of the Etsy listing) must be completed by April 4.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line. I look forward to learning with you!
